A 38-year-old Mang Muan Piang is a resident of Khampat town, and was killed on August 22 by the CDF-Tonzang Battalion (2), accusing him as a military informant, financial deception and resisting the spring revolution.
He is a father of five and was a village administrator of Ward No. 1 in Khampat. According to a statement released by the United Zo Organisation (USA), he is the leader of the Zo Youth Organisation and is working diligently to fulfil his responsibilities to the Chin people.
In a statement, UZO said that the dead body hasn't been returned to the family members that also violates the Zo customary law and traditions.
This killing is inexcusable and their they are not adhering to the NUG's military code of conduct, and we will find justice for the victim, the statement said.
The CDF-Tonzang headquarters also issued a statement indicating that their battalion (2) has been terminated after being found guilty for killing Mang Muan Piang.
