Manipur: House of National Football Star, Ngamgouhou Mate, Razed by Extremist Meiteis"

According to multiple local news report, the house of national football star Ngamgouhou Mate,who led the Indian football team to victory at the South Asian Football Federation under-16 (U-16 SAFF) Champion in Thimphu, was razed by the extremist group Meiteis.

"Camptian (Ngamgouhou Mate) of U-16 SAFF team welcomed in relief camp" the Nagaland reported. Caption Ngamnouhou Mate, famously known for his exceptional skills on the football field and revered as a national icon, has tragically been rendered homeless as a result of the violence carried out by the Meiteis.

However, in the recent interview with EastMojo he said " I personally look forward o peace in our state"

As of August 23, there have been a reported 187 fatalities and extensive destruction including over 4,500 houses have been burnt down or demolished. The displacement caused by this violence has affected an estimated population exceeding 60,000 individuals, with the Kuki-Zo community being particularly impacted.

Furthermore, it has been noted that around 253 churches belong to the Kuki-Zo community have also incurred damage or complete destruction as a result of clashes with their Hindi Meiti counterparts.
